Third Country Nationals may now apply for an H-1B Visa at the US Consulate in Vancouver, Canada

The US Consulate General in Vancouver, Canada has indicated that it will accept applications by third country nationals applying for their first H-1B visa, even if the application is based on a university degree issued outside the U.S. or Canada. Previously, these applicants were discouraged from applying at the post. Note that appointments are limited and are released several months in advance; applicants should regularly monitor the appointment system to obtain a time/date that works for them as appointments are generally booked very quickly.  Visa appointments can be made through the US Department of State website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv.Third country nationals are encouraged to check in advance whether a Canadian visitor visa is required, prior to scheduling an H-1B visa application appointment.
